This Mother’s Day is your chance to treat Mom to a night of decadence, starting with a scrumptious feast at the elegant Chef Chai on Kapiolani Boulevard.
The restaurant will offer a special Mother’s Day buffet with all-you-can-eat lobster, king crab legs and prime rib. Priced at $79 per person, and 50 percent off for keiki under 12, families can enjoy the special buffet Saturday, May 12 (dinner only, seating at 4-4:30 p.m., 7 p.m. or after) and Sunday, May 13 (brunch seating at 9-9:30 a.m., noon or after; and dinner, seating at 4-4:30 p.m., 7 p.m. or after).
“Our buffet offers the best quality food in town,” says chef and owner Chai Chaowasaree. “Most of our guests come again and again for our buffet.”
On the menu, find Grilled Lobster with Drawn Butter and Sambal Lemon Sauce, featuring large 8-ounce lobster tails split in half and grilled to perfection. According to Chaowasaree,”(It’s) served with drawn butter and our house special Sambal lemon and lemongrass garlic sauce.”
There also is a variety of fresh fruit and desserts, from French Macaroon and Coffee Pot de Creme to Chocolate Decadence Mousse Cake and Chocolate Marble Cups with Cheese Cake and Fresh Raspberry.
What’s more, Chef Chai also will be celebrating Dad on Father’s Day with this special buffet, offered Saturday, June 16 (dinner only) and Sunday, June 17 (brunch and dinner).

Chef Chai in Honolulu will be offering special buffets to celebrate Mom and Dad! “We only offer these special buffets twice a year, on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day,” shares chef Chai Chaowasaree. “Our king crab legs are jumbo size, peel and ready to eat, same as the lobster tail, split and grilled ready and easy to eat — no mess, no fuss.” The expansive menu features delectable entrees, desserts and a carving station with Roasted Prime Ribs of Beef with Natural Beef Jus and Creamy Horseradish, and Mongolian Style Rack of Lamb with Merlot Demi.
