Satisfy your appetite for the best home-style Ko rean eats at New Shilawon Korean Restaurant. Located near Ala Moana on Amana Street, the restaurant is loved for its all-you-can-eat yakiniku specials and traditional Korean foods.
General manager Jandy Lee, whose parents are the eatery’s chefs and owners, notes that New Shilawon hosts a lot of local regulars who return because of the high-quality food and great service. One way that the restaurant treats its guests like family every day of the week is with its Daily Specials, priced at $10.95 each.
Every Monday, enjoy Barbecue Chicken; Tuesday’s special is Spicy Pork, in addition to a 10 percent discount for seniors; Wednesdays are loved for Kalbi Soup; Tile Fish is offered on Thursdays; and Brisket Miso Stew, Cold Noodles and Spicy Beef Noodles round out the specials on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The chefs at New Shilawon are constantly creating new dishes for their guests. The restaurant’s latest special is Steamed Pork Rib, which is priced at $15.95 (pictured) for lunch and $19.95 for dinner. The savory meat is soaked in a marinade consisting of soy sauce, sugar and ginger; then, it’s steamed for 20 minutes and topped off with pine nuts, ginkgo biloba, bell peppers, carrots, garlic and green onions. Diners also can ask for a spicy rendition of the dish, complete with chili powder and paste.
