Since opening in 2010, Il Lupino Trattoria & Wine Bar at Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki has become a favorite for its authentic Italian cuisine made with only the finest ingredients from Italy, as well as local farmers.
T he award-winning restaurant by legendary restaurateur Wolfgang Zwiener serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a chic yet comfortable atmosphere, with indoor or patio seating.
Many of its pastas are made fresh every morning, and there also is an in-house salumeria, or Italian deli, offering a nice selection of aged meats and fine cheeses perfect to enjoy with wine (its extensive wine list was recognized by Wine Spectator for Best of Award of Excellence in 2016) or a refreshing cocktail.
IL LUPINO’S ‘LOVE FEAST’
For Valentine’s Day, enjoy a special Bistecca Dinner for Two ($88 per person, available Feb. 14 from 5 to 10:30 p.m.), featuring Bistecca Fiorentina (an Italian-style 32-ounce Prime Porterhouse steak) grilled to perfection with rosemary-roasted potatoes and aged balsamic, and served with mashed potatoes and sautéed broccoli. It also includes your choice of soup or house salad, and Ricotta Cheesecake (also available a la carte for $11) with fresh, chocolate-dipped strawberries for dessert.
“We get our Prime beef from the same supplier as our “big brother” restaurant, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, for the finest quality, tenderest, most delicious steaks,” notes Mona Wood-Sword, PR and marketing director. She adds that the regular menu also is available on Valentine’s Day.
