Summer Savings, Specials Abound

Zippy’s Restaurants continues to roll out new items to complement its award-winning menu, which is chock-full of local favorites available at affordable prices within a family-friendly setting.

As a testament to its popularity among local diners, Zippy’s was honored recently with a trio of commendations in Honolulu Star-Advertiser‘s annual Hawaii’s Best People’s Choice Awards for serving up the “Best Family Dining,” representing the “Best Late Night Eatery” and offering the “Best Bento,” the latter of which recognizes the iconic Zip Pac and other popular combinations. Zippy’s also garnered second place in the “Best American Food” category and second-place honors in the “Best Bakery” slate in recognition of Napoleon’s Bakery.

Oxtail Style Turkey Neck Soup ($7.25 fast-food counter, $8.25 dine-in restaurant)

Throughout July, Zippy’s is offering a special “Football Game Giveaway” during which customers can enter to win a trip for two to a professional football game. The giveaway, which ends July 31, will reward the winner with a travel voucher good for up to $3,100 in travel and accommodations and two tickets to a pro football game during the 2016-17 regular season.

To coincide with the giveaway, Zippy’s allows diners to score with Oxtail Style Turkey Neck Soup for just $7.25 at the fast-food counter and $8.25 in the dine-in restaurant (special prices available through July 31 and the soup is served between 10:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.). Diners who crave Zippy’s oxtail soup are sure to enjoy this version of the local favorite, which is topped with choi sum, Chinese parsley and served with rice.

Bacon Egg Parmeasan Salad ($9.95, dine-in restaurant only)

Zippy’s is also offering breakfast bentos at special prices now through July 31. Breakfast Bento No. 1 ($3.95, at fast-food counter only) features a delicious mix of corned beef hash, Spam, scrambled eggs and rice. Breakfast Bento No. 2 ($3.95, at fast-food counter only) includes Spam, scrambled egg, Portuguese sausage and rice, while Breakfast Bento No. 3 ($3.95, at fast-food counter only) incorporates Portuguese Sausage, scrambled egg, corned beef hash and rice. The bentos are available during breakfast hours only.

“The breakfast bentos are very popular and are perfect for our on-the-go guests,” says Jeanine Mamiya-Kalahiki, marketing manager at Zippy’s Restaurants. “Pick up a bento to take it with you to the beach when you head out early in the morning.”

Waffle and Pancakes with Peanut Butter Sauce ($7.85 each, dine-in restaurant only)

Zippy’s continues to roll out delicious new salads at its dine-in restaurants, including the new Bacon Egg Parmesan Salad ($9.95, available through July 31 at dine-in restaurants only). The tasty creation incorporates fresh Kunia aquaponic greens tossed in a sweet vinaigrette and topped with chopped bacon, chopped hard-boiled egg, Parmesan cheese, craisins, diced tomatoes and croutons.

Generations of diners have flocked to Zippy’s in pursuit of delectable desserts and the eatery has created yet another tasty treat in Waffle and Pancakes with Peanut Butter Sauce ($7.85 each, at dine-in restaurants only). Throughout Aug. 31, guests can enjoy a crisp Belgian waffle or a short stack of pancakes topped with a delicate peanut butter sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
