There’s something about Regal Bakery Airport’s delectable doughnuts that give the tasty treats an addictive quality that has diners from around the island, as well as visitors from around the world, flocking to fulfill their doughnut fix.

Regal Bakery’s doughnuts are baked fresh daily at its in-house kitchen facility that opened in 2011 amid the airport industrial area. Upon driving up to the establishment, diners are sure to smell the sweet aroma wafting through the air. On a recent Dining Out visit, customers had come from as far as Ewa Beach and as near as Honolulu International Airport to satiate their craving for flavorful doughnuts.

“Hawaii didn’t have a true doughnut shop, so what we focus on here is providing a one-stop doughnut shop within an industrial area,” says Jessie Salvador, general manager of Regal Bakery and the creative mind behind most of the culinary creations and flavor combinations. Salvador estimates that the bakery produces up to 2,000 doughnuts per day, not including wholesale or fundraiser orders.

Regal Bakery Airport just introduced its flavor of the month for August: Lemon Crumb ($1.10 each). The lemon cake doughnut is topped with lemon icing and lemon streusel, and resembles what Salvador describes as a “lemon drop doughnut.”

Customers also rave about go-to favorite flavors including vanilla, strawberry, blueberry, glazed, chocolate, cinnamon streusel and powdered sugar ($1.10 each, mix-and-match a dozen for $11). Regal Bakery Airport also offers Green Tea, Long Johns, Maple Bacon (all $2 each); Apple Fritters, Cinnamon Rolls and Choco Chip Yeast ($1.75 apiece); and even Butter Nut croissant-style doughnuts ($3 each). Doughnuts pair perfectly with coffee, and Regal Bakery Airport brews up Mountain Roast, Vanilla Macadamia Nut and Mocha Macadamia Nut blends ($1.50 per cup) fresh each morning.

For those looking to try Regal Bakery Airport’s doughnuts for the first time or simply stock up on their favorite flavors, Regal Bakery Airport offers a special Hot Deal available now through Thursday, Aug. 7, at midnight via HotDealsHawaii.com. The deal is for two $10 vouchers (a $20 value) for just $10. The vouchers may be redeemed from Aug. 8 through Jan. 31, 2015, and are applicable to doughnuts and coffee. As a reminder, one voucher may be redeemed per visit at the Regal Bakery Airport location only, and the Hot Deal may not be combined with any other special discounts or promotions.

Regal Bakery Airport also offers fundraising opportunities, something Salvador explains has grown into a popular option for local community groups and organizations. For more information, call 838-1229 or log onto the Regal Bakery Facebook page.
