Sweet Tooth, Asian-Inspired Delights

Anytime Cafe in Market City Shopping Center offers tasty Hong Kong- and Taiwan-inspired desserts that look as good as they taste. And presentation really is the cherry on top when it comes to these colorful desserts.

Each dessert at Anytime Cafe packs loads of flavors and different textures. You can rest assured that you’ll get your dose of soft sweetness with fruits, jelly or popping bubbles.

Snow Ice ($6.95) comes in six flavors: mango, strawberry, green tea, milk, honeydew and taro.

According to co-owner Cindy Wong, Anytime Cafe was the first to bring snow ice to the islands — a dessert originally created in Taiwan.

“It was very popular in Hong Kong, too,” she says, noting that Mango Snow Ice is the most popular. “It’s different from local shave ice, and we had to order a special machine.”

The machine ensures that each layer of snow ice is soft and melt-in-your-mouth good.

Each Snow Ice is served with popping bubbles, which live up to their name as each bubble contains flavored juice that complements the snow ice mountain.

Another Hong Kong-style dessert is Red Bean Shave Ice with Coconut Milk ($5.50).

Sweet red beans sit beneath delicious coconut milk in this popular dessert, and it’s perfect to share (or eat by yourself).

For a smaller dessert portion, Mango Pudding ($4.95) is perfect. Anytime Cafe features its homemade fresh mango pudding topped with mango ice cream.

“It’s our special recipe” Wong says.”

Anytime Cafe’s dessert menu also features items such as Tiramisu ($4.95), Halo Halo ($6.50) and Grass Jelly Shave Ice with Coconut Milk ($5.50).

As its name states, Anytime Cafe has desserts for every occasion at any time of day. You can look forward to a hearty helping of dessert whenever your sweet tooth strikes!
