As of last week, 29,933 runners have signed up for this year’s Honolulu Marathon Dec. 9. But before they meet up for that grueling 26.2-mile run, runners often carbo-load in the days leading up to the race.

Many of the participants are visitors staying in Waikiki, and to help them fuel up for the big race, Wailana Coffee House is offering an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Marathon Special Dec. 6-8 from 5 p.m. to midnight.

For only $10.50, enjoy all-youcan-eat Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, as well as all-you-can-eat salad bar and Parmesan garlic bread. On Friday and Saturday, there’s a Pasta Buffet from 5 to 8:30 p.m. featuring three types of pasta (spaghetti, spinach fettucini and rainbow rotini), and three types of pasta sauces (marinara herb sauce, red sauce with seasoned ground beef, and (on Friday only) seafood (bay shrimp, clams and mahi mahi) in a white cream sauce or (on Saturday night) an Italian sausage pasta sauce.

Of course, the all-you-can-eat pasta marathon special is available to anyone, whether you’re running in the marathon or not. Wailana Coffee House has been offering this special for the past 10 years, and general manager Kenton Tom says it’s been a popular tradition.

The iconic restaurant, conveniently located at the corner of Ala Moana Boulevard and Ena Road (across from Hilton Hawaiian Village), was founded in 1969 by Francis Tom and has since become a favorite for locals and tourists from around the world. Known for its casual diner setting, customers also can enjoy a large menu of tasty dishes, friendly service and reasonable prices.
