A Catered Experience Serves Up a Thanksgiving Feast

As Thanksgiving approaches, thoughts of moist turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy begin to take the spotlight as friends and families prepare to gather for various celebrations in less than three weeks.

However, along with the stomach-stuffing food favorites and merriment delivered at Thanksgiving, the holiday also evokes moments of anxiety as celebration hosts consider the time and stress involved in creating and coordinating such a grand spread.

A Catered Experience has customers covered with an Oven Roasted Turkey Package ($92.95 plus tax) that takes the stress and mess out of preparing a hearty Thanksgiving feast. The package includes: an 8to 10-pound (cooked weight) tender, moist, whole roast turkey served hot and ready to eat; four pounds of Poultry Gravy; four pounds of Real Mashed Potatoes; three pounds of Stuffing; one pound of Cranberry/Pineapple Relish; a dozen Dinner Rolls; and a Napoleon’s Bakery Pumpkin Pie. To aid in the preparation process, simple reheating instructions are provided for the relevant accompaniments (gravy, mashed potatoes and stuffing).

A Catered Experience brings more than 25 years of experience to the table, and the excellent food quality and extraordinary customer service are evident with each order prepared.

“The Turkey Package provides customers with convenience because the turkey is hot, and the sides come with simple reheating instructions,” says Ron Hattori, general manager at A Catered Experience. “And picking up the Turkey Package is simple: You just drive up to the parking lot, hand the employees your receipt and you don’t even have to get out of your car. We’ll load up the car, and you can just drive off.”

Diners also can add more fixings to the Oven Roasted Turkey Package with the following items on an a la carte basis: Maki Sushi Roll ($4, uncut); Dinner Rolls ($4.50 per dozen); Real Mashed Potatoes ($6.50 for two pounds); Napoleon’s Bakery Pumpkin Pie ($7.50); Napoleon’s Bakery Custard Pie ($7.50); Napoleon’s Bakery Apple Pie ($7.50); Poultry Gravy ($5 for two pounds); Stuffing ($7.50 for three pounds); Cranberry/Pineapple Relish ($3.50 for one-half pound); and Potato/Macaroni Salad ($7 for two pounds). Additionally Chicken Nishime ($12 for two pounds), a Japanese-style stew — which includes chicken, konyaku, carrots, taro balls, lotus root, gobo, bamboo shoots, and shiitake mushrooms that are simmered in an Osaka-style broth — also is available as an add-on.

“We save the customers time, and it’ll save them the trouble of going to the store and buying all the ingredients, and putting everything together from scratch,” Hattori says. “Ultimately it saves time and money.”

A limited supply of the packages is available on a pre-order basis, and Hattori encourages customers to call with their requests as soon as possible to ensure the order can be filled. A Catered Experience accepts checks and credit card payments, and cash payments must be made in person at the Waipio office. The Oven Roasted Turkey Packages are available for pick-up on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Hawaii Okinawa Center parking lot located at 94-587 Ukee St. in Waipio.
