Over the past three decades, local diners have sought out the exceptional wet-aged steaks at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, which are selected from the top 2 percent of the country’s beef, broiled in 1,800-degree ovens and served with butter on piping hot 500-degree plates to ensure every bite is delicious.
In addition to serving up the signature “sizzle” with each of its masterfully prepared USDA Prime steaks and succulent seafood, the New Orleans-inspired cuisine at Ruth’s Chris continues to help diners make memories one delicious dining experience at a time.
The restaurant also features fresh seafood, an award-winning wine list and a wide variety of appetizers, salads, side dishes and desserts all served in an inviting atmosphere accompanied by impeccable service and hospitality. Ruth’s Chris is celebrating its 30th year at its Waterfront Plaza location in Honolulu, and the restaurant group is gearing up to celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2020 — a testament to the customer appreciation for the steak house.
“Guests can look forward to an absolutely amazing dining experience from the service to the food and ambiance. I like my guests to feel like family, and as soon as they walk through the door, they are part of our family,” says general manager Don Asam. “We use only the freshest seafood we can — I tell guests it’s so fresh, it’s going to be caught tomorrow! We offer the top 2 percent of USDA Prime beef, seared so hot that the juices are locked in and the steak doesn’t dry out.”
Executive Chef Ricky Murakami and his team continue to perfect an array of customer favorites, while also adding new items that align with culinary trends.
Ruth’s Chris offers multiple varieties of wet-aged beef including the Filet ($59), which is an 11-ounce cut of tender, corn-fed Midwestern beef. Porterhouse for Two ($125) offers a superb flavor profile with the richness of a strip and the tenderness of a filet all in one 40-ounce USDA Prime cut.
Diners can also reach for the massive Tomahawk Ribeye ($147), a USDA Prime bone-in 40-ounce cut that resembles something Fred Flintstone would “Yabba Dabba Doo” over as, excluding the bone, the dish yields two pounds of succulent beef with superb marbling broiled to perfection for peak flavor.
Chilled Seafood Tower ($138 large, $69 small) allows diners to dive into an incredible seafood assortment including Maine lobster, Alaskan king crab legs, jumbo shrimp and colossal lump blue crab. Oysters Rockefeller ($20) is a must-try appetizer featuring five oysters on the half shell baked with spinach, bacon, caramelized onions and topped with hollandaise sauce.
“What sets us apart is our people, going the extra step to make guests feel warm and welcome,” Asam says. “When diners get up and head toward the door after a memorable meal, I want them to say ‘Wow, I can’t wait to come back!'”
