It’s easy to see why visitors and island residents flock to Makino Waikiki, as it boasts an incredible value on a buffet.

In fact, it was chef and owner Toru Makino’s mission to serve people a large amount of food at an affordable price.

Makino, who launched numerous buffet-dining restaurants across the U.S., shares that he’s able to keep prices low by buying an ample amount of items to satisfy the many people that come to his restaurant.

The buffet features more than 50 items such as sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, udon, seafood and meat options, and much more. Plus, the buffet line now includes snow crab legs, live lobsters and even seafood shabu shabu that guests can enjoy for dinner.

What’s more, until the end of the month, seniors can enjoy a stellar lunch special while kamaaina diners can enjoy a dinner special — all at a low cost. Just check the ad on page 7 (only valid until March 31, must show Hawaii State ID for offer).

DINERS REEL IN DEALS

Makino Waikiki has been serving local and visiting customers for more than 30 years, and as a treat for Dining Out readers, the eatery will be offering two specials until the end of the month (March 31). Seniors coming in for lunch just have to pay $8.98 ($9.98 for Saturday and Sunday), while kamaaina can feast on the dinner buffet for just $25.98 ($26.98 for Saturday and Sunday).
