Local diners have grown fond of the sensational giveaways served up by Zippy’s Restaurants, and the latest promotion is sure to have guests ready to reel in adventure on the open ocean.
It’s “anchors aweigh,” as Zippy’s has teamed up with KSSK to offer a Hawaiian Island Cruise for two with Perry & the Posse courtesy of Non-Stop Travel and Norwegian Cruise Line. The interisland adventure includes stops at the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Maui and the Big Island, and is sure to provide a true taste of the 50th State.
To coincide with the giveaway, Zippy’s is offering a trio of local favorites on special now through Sept. 30. This month, guests can pick up Mini Spaghetti with Garlic Bread ($5.01 at the fast-food counter, $5.85 at the dine-in restaurant), Mini Korean Chicken ($5.49 fast food, $6.50 restaurant) and Mini Hamburger Steak ($5.49 fast food, $6.50 restaurant), the latter of which includes a grilled hamburger steak topped with grilled onions and gravy, as well as a choice of starch and macaroni salad. (As a reminder, prices vary at neighbor island locations.)
In support of Marcus Mariota’s Motiv8 Foundation, Zippy’s is launching a two-month-long campaign to help raise funds for the foundation, which is geared toward promoting healthy minds and bodies among youth in Hawaii. Diners can help by purchasing Motiv8 Foundation cut outs for $1 at all Zippy’s locations, donating to designated canisters at the restaurant and by purchasing a flavorful Kokua Pac. The original Kokua Pac ($8.12 fast food, $9.35 restaurant) is back, and features two of Mariota’s favorites from Zippy’s: Portuguese sausage and Korean chicken. The Kokua Pac also includes a teriyaki hot dog and a slice of Spam atop a bed of rice, and 25 cents from each Kokua Pac sold through Oct. 31 will be donated to the Motiv8 Foundation.
Zippy’s Broccoli Salad ($9.95 in the restaurant only) is available now through Sept. 30 as the restaurant’s featured salad of the month. The tasty and refreshing salad is built with fresh Kunia Farms aquaponics-grown greens and topped with cooked broccoli and crispy bacon. The salad is accented with cheddar cheese, chopped onions and Craisins along with a creamy red wine vinaigrette dressing served on the side.
Desserts continue to draw rave reviews at Zippy’s, as is the case with a new sweet treat waiting to be enjoyed with any meal. Chocolate Haupia Waffle, Pancakes and French Toast ($7.85 apiece in the restaurant only, available through Oct. 31) serve as the perfect end to one’s dining experience, or as a savory snack any time of the day. One’s choice of a crisp Belgian waffle, short stack of golden, fluffy pancakes or Zippy’s sweet bread French toast are topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, haupia sauce, chocolate and whipped cream.
