A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: Omelet Rice Beef Stew Sauce ($11.50)
Casual dining has been turned up a notch on Waialae Avenue, where Izakaya Restaurant Ko caters to dinner and late-night temptations.
The cozy and charming Kaimuki hot spot is the sister eatery of Rinka Restaurant, and it opened in October of last year. It has incorporated part of the name of the establishment that previously occupied the space, Restaurant & Bar Ko, into its current moniker.
With this new restaurant comes exciting new dishes, which offer more than just fresh and local ingredients Patrons can expect a delectable taste of Japan accented with twists from other types of cuisine. “It’s kind of a fusion of things,” says general manager Takaaki Nakajima.
One eclectic creation is Omelet Rice Beef Stew Sauce, a scrumptious combination of fried rice, veggies and chicken that will leave none unsatisfied.
