You may think of Kissaten Coffee Bar with fond memories of finals week and pulling all-nighters at the 24-hour restaurant. But what you may not have expected is the full-fledged menu with dishes that will make you realize the eatery is far more than a source of caffeine.

“We’re not just a coffee shop,” says senior partner Neysa Taba.

Dine in today during its lunch and dinner hours (11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily) and continue the Cinco de Mayo celebration with three themed special dishes priced at a very appetizing $9.50 each.

Spinach Quesadilla features roasted chicken breast with mozzarella cheese, pickled onions and cilantro in a spinach tortilla. It is served with house made guacamole, pico de gallo and a side salad.

The two other items on its special menus are tacos: Smoked Pork Taco and Shrimp Taco. Both are served atop a white corn tortilla, along with a side salad.

Smoked Pork Taco has familiar flavors of kalua pig along with house-made guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, corn, cilantro and barbecue sauce.

Shrimp Taco is refreshing and light with cilantro garlic shrimp, corn, guacamole, sour cream and cabbage, and pico de gallo.

It isn’t just entrees Kissaten is offering. The diner-style counter near the back of the restaurant is an ice cream parlor.

“We have started serving snow ice just in time for summer,” says Taba.

She also recommends Brownie Sundae, a crowd favorite.

With dessert on the menu, you really will be able to enjoy a full foodie’s delight.
