Diners will find fine Japanese cuisine at Miyako Japanese Restaurant situated on the second floor of The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel.
Located along the end of Waikiki, the restaurant provides patrons with a breathtaking environment. Miyako features a choice of cabana seating, which overlooks the ocean for an elegant, intimate sunset scene.
Offering an authentic experience, the chef hails from Japan, while waitresses wear traditional kimono. The establishment’s dishes give guests a true taste of the Land of the Rising Sun.
For example, customers constantly delight in the Japanese Style Garlic Shrimp ($24). These plump, juicy crustaceans are expertly cooked and melded with an intensely flavorful garlic sauce.
There are many other seafood options for lovers of edibles from the briny depths.
Among them is the Sashimi Platter ($40) featuring assorted sashimi from Hawaii. It mixes multiple kinds of extremely fresh fish and shrimp with choices that change on a daily basis. Everything is arranged on the plate in such a beautiful fashion that this dish is a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.
Continuing on a riff of luscious fish, Broiled Misoyaki Butterfish ($34) can be ordered with a set that offers the light, flaky butterfish with not only the flavorful marinated butterfish, but also miso soup, Japanese pickles, rice, and ice cream for dessert.
Fresh, tasty sushi always satisfies during a venture to a fine Japanese eatery, and Miyako certainly fulfills those cravings as well. The restaurant serves a wonderful Nigiri Sushi Assortment ($35) featuring handcrafted sushi bites and miso soup.
Wagyu Beef Sukiyaki ($82) is a hot pot dinner choice admired by many customers. They can dig into 4-ounce portion of the tender, rich beef that is steeped with noodles, veggies and tofu all simmered together to create an inviting taste. Other items include rice, soup, sashimi, Japanese pickles and ice cream.
