It takes more than a ﬁre to keep a good plate lunch place down.
In September 2019, an accidental ﬁre erupted at the Wahiawa L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. According to the Honolulu Fire Department, the restaurant sustained about $85,000 in damages.
However, by late January of this year the Wahiawa L&L was once again open for business, offering hungry diners a wide variety of beloved local favorites.
A perfect example would be the Kalua Pork with Cabbage ($9.85; prices vary by location). Smoke-ﬂavored, succulent shredded pork is slowly roasted to a ﬂavorful ﬁnish and mixed with cabbage.
