If you’re still debating where to take Mom to celebrate her day, here you go: Sarento’s at the Top of the Ilikai. With an elegant dining room and stunning ocean views, Sarento’s has all the makings of the perfect celebratory spot.
And that’s not even mentioning the menu.
“It’s a little bit of classic, rustic Italian, but at the same time, it has got a little bit of a modern and local twist,” explains head chef Chris McAllaster. “We do things like Seared Ahi Bruschetta, for example — so we take something local and mix it with something that is traditional Italian.”
‘MOM’S’ THE WORD
Sarento’s head chef, Chris McAllaster, has concocted a dish specifically in honor of Mother’s Day. Available today only, the Mother’s Day Special ($42) is a pan-seared crispy duck breast served over hand-cut fettuccine with sautéed oyster mushrooms, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, fresh garlic and basil, and a little bit of brown butter sage. It’s all tied together with beet and ricotta cheese puree.
