Romano’s Macaroni Grill is known for its authentic Italian cuisine, and while the eatery does a fantastic job of whipping up famous mouthwatering dishes such as Pasta di Mare and Fettuccine Alfredo, corporate chef Nawai Kekoolani likes to keep his guests on their toes.

The newest special at the eatery is Grilled Lamb Chops. For $27, patrons can sink their teeth into perfectly cooked lamb, which is grilled first and then roasted in the oven, according to Kekoolani.

This succulent lamb is served with roasted potatoes, a vegetable medley that consists of roasted garlic, zucchini, bell peppers and onions, and a mustard cream sauce that is made with little hints of sage and creole mustard.

“Everyone knows Macaroni Grill for its Italian food,” says Kekoolani. “We’re trying to get our guests to try something different.”

A ‘STEAK-OUT’

Another special guests are invited to try is Steak and Greens Salad ($17). “This is something a little lighter, but it also has protein,” says Kekoolani. This salad creation is made with kale, spinach, arugula and radicchio, topped off with New York strip steak and mixed in with Gorgonzola, crispy prosciutto and crunchy fried onions. The must-try bed of greens is served with an oreganata dressing, which is similar to a balsamic-soy dressing.
