Eye-catching, modern decor and tasty meals are what you can expect at Odori-ko since the Japanese restaurant moved from its former Waikiki location to its current spot on Kapiolani Boulevard. The eatery still serves a lot of its classic dishes, but has added some new favorites as well, such as Hamburger Steak.

Odori-ko’s vibrant atmosphere and enticing eats live up to the restaurant’s tagline: “Escape, Engage, Indulge,” and show no signs of slowing down.

For those 60 years and older, partake in Senior Tuesdays, which is an all-day special offering reduced-priced items.

If you’re a musician and looking for an extra gig or two, or a patron seeking out live music to go along with a great meal, come to Odoriko’s Open Mic Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. The restaurant also has live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

Additionally, diners can take advantage of valet service during dinner (free Sunday-Thursday; $5 Friday-Saturday) from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

HAVE YOU HEARD?

One of the restaurant’s new items is Hamburger Steak ($15.95). This homemade specialty is not like the local version, however. Instead, it’s prepared with Japanese flair. The meat is cooked with palate-pleasing flavors and has a fluffy and juicy texture. It’s topped with sauteed onions, mushrooms and bean sprouts, and is finished off with a red wine demi-glace. The lunch version comes with a side of greens, potato salad, cherry tomatoes, steamed pumpkin and an egg omelet, while the dinner version is served with potato wedges.
