When it comes to Thanksgiving, as much as everyone looks forward to spending time with family and friends over a bountiful feast, it’s no secret that preparing a large-scale meal is not an easy task. To alleviate any undue stress, Pacific Beach Hotel’s award-winning Oceanarium restaurant invites all to take advantage of its to-go gourmet meal service Thanksgiving Day.

“Last year, almost 300 families participated, so we are anticipating another successful year,” says director of food and beverage Patrick Faas. “Being able to enjoy gourmet, restaurant-quality food without having to spend hours in the kitchen is a perk not many can pass up.”

The ordering process is simple. Customers may call the restaurant at any time up to two days before Thanksgiving to reserve their to-go meal. Then, on the day of the holiday, patrons can drive up alongside the hotel between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. for pickup.

Turkey Dinner ($150), which feeds between six and eight people, includes a wide array of side dishes, including Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Country Stuffing, Maple Yams, Edamame and Corn Succotash. In addition to classic turkey, Ham Dinner ($170) is another popular option that feeds approximately eight to 10 people.

“Every component of the meal is expertly prepared, from the homemade bread rolls to the gravy, which we make from scratch,” says Faas. “Our cooks start preparing at 11 the night prior, and cook all throughout the evening and morning, so the food is as fresh as can be when you pick it up.”

In addition to pickup service, Oceanarium will host its annual Thanksgiving brunch and dinner buffet ($60 for adults, $21 for children). “The buffet meals allow us to have a much more elaborate spread,” explains Faas. “There will be more than 10 different entrees to choose from, including Roasted Turkey with Cranberry Stuffing, Steamed Snow Crab Legs, Baked Ham with Honey Dijon Mustard and Herb Roasted Prime Rib with au jus.”

For those who are unable to attend, the restaurant will feature a special Thanksgiving menu Saturday, Nov. 29 and Sunday, Nov. 30, for a discounted rate ($55 for adults, $21 for children).

Located on the main floor of Waikiki’s Pacific Beach Hotel, Oceanarium’s dining room boasts a state-of-the-art live aquarium, showcasing more than 400 exotic fish and underwater species.
