While its signature cuisine includes unforgettable ribs, steaks and seafood, Tony Roma’s also strives to provide stellar service and a fun atmosphere, which all combine to elevate the dining experience.

For more than three decades, Tony Roma’s has served multiple generations of Hawaii’s families in its comfortable, casual setting. The restaurant features locations in Waikiki and in Aiea’s Westridge Shopping Center, and also features an array of salads, sandwiches, burgers and pastas to satisfy all tastes.

Tony Roma’s features a special deal for Dining Out readers with its “Three Course Menu” available Oct. 3-31, priced at $25 per person. Customers are treated to a starter, including soup of the day, tossed or Caesar salad, followed by one of the following entree combos: Baby Back Ribs & Garlic Shrimp, Baby Back Ribs & Chicken or Baby Back Ribs & Medallion Steaks. To complete the meal, diners may indulge in an alluring mini Red Velvet Cake.

The Westridge location also offers “Rollback Monday” specials every Monday through Nov. 30. Diners may choose from The Original Baby Backs ($24.99, regularly $28.99), Tony Roma’s famous finger-licking ribs with a choice of sauce, or BBQ Half Chicken ($13.99, regularly $16.99).

“We want to remind diners that, even though we’re famous for ribs, we also offer additional favorites,” says Lennon de Leon, general manager of the Aiea location. “We strive to provide great food and service by friendly, professional team members. Of course, we cater to families.”

As new Waikiki general manager JR Hoffman explains, Tony Roma’s has developed a loyal following by offering stellar steaks, including Ribeye Steak ($31.99). This 14-ounce cut is naturally marbled, flavorfully seasoned and served with cole slaw and a choice of side.

Hoffman also recommends Shrimp Scampi Pasta ($18.99), a generous portion of shrimp lightly sauteed with garlic, fresh basil, tomato pesto and a hint of chipotle served over linguine and topped with Romano cheese. As a lighter option, Hoffman suggests Chicken Caprese Panini ($11.99), which incorporates seasoned, grilled all-natural chicken breast, hearty mozzarella, marinated tomato slices and fresh basil between two slices of Italian bread grilled to perfection.

“The ribs, steaks and pastas are great for dinner. For lunch, I usually look for something a bit lighter — Chicken Caprese Panini is really tasty,” Hoffman says. “Our salads also are very popular, especially during lunch.”

Tony Roma’s features a popular “Kids Eat Free” promotion every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Westridge location. Children 10 years old and under enjoy a complimentary meal from the kid’s menu with an accompanying adult’s entree purchase (one child may enjoy a free meal per each paying adult).

To sweeten the deal, the Aiea location also offers free entertainment from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on all three nights for kids and kids-at-heart alike. Glen Bailey performs his engaging brand of magic Tuesday nights, and enjoys seeing customers he performed for decades ago bring their children to experience the fun. Wednesday nights belong to the show-stopping magic tricks presented by Alan Arita, who also explains some of his “tricky business” to those patrons interested in learning about his passion. Professional balloon artist Suzette Arita steals the show Thursday nights with her amazing balloon creations resembling mermaids, Super Mario and everything in between.

Both locations offer complimentary parking and daily happy hour specials to enhance the dining experience. At the Westridge location, happy hour runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and specials include 16-ounce draft beers ($4) and glasses of wine ($4 each). The Waikiki location’s happy hour also runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features domestic beer and well drinks ($4) and selected wines ($5), mai tais and imported beers.
