Regal Bakery’s doughnuts are baked fresh daily at its in-house kitchen facility that opened in 2011 amid the airport industrial area. “Hawaii didn’t have a true doughnut shop, so what we focus on here is providing a one-stop doughnut shop within an industrial area,” says Jessie Salvador, general manager of Regal Bakery and the creative mind behind most of the culinary creations and flavor combinations. Salvador estimates that the bakery produces up to 2,000 doughnuts per day, not including wholesale or fundraiser orders.

Regal Bakery Airport just introduced its flavor of the month for August: Lemon Crumb ($1.10 each). The lemon cake doughnut is topped with lemon icing and lemon streusel, and resembles what Salvador describes as a “lemon drop doughnut.”

Customers also rave about go-to favorite flavors including vanilla, strawberry, blueberry, glazed, chocolate, cinnamon streusel and powdered sugar ($1.10 each, mix-and-match a dozen for $11). Regal Bakery Airport also offers Green Tea, Long Johns, Maple Bacon (all $2 each); Apple Fritters, Cinnamon Rolls and Choco Chip Yeast ($1.75 apiece); and even Butter Nut croissant-style doughnuts ($3 each). Doughnuts pair perfectly with coffee, and Regal Bakery Airport brews up Mountain Roast, Vanilla Macadamia Nut and Mocha Macadamia Nut blends ($1.50 per cup) fresh each morning.
