With Father’s Day here before we know it, Zippy’s Restaurants serves up a duo of dine-in specials crafted to appease even the heartiest appetites as families gather to celebrate dads.

The culinary wizards at Zippy’s have created special three-course meals that start off with a dinner roll, choice of soup or tossed salad and a choice of large drink or coffee. Diners then may select an entree: Fried Pork Chops with Roasted Fuji Apples ($18.25, dine-in only), bone-in pork chops seasoned, breaded and fried until golden brown and served with roasted Fuji apples, real mashed potatoes, macaroni salad and sweet mustard sauce; or Garlic Rib Steak ($19.25, dine-in only), a tender boneless rib steak seasoned perfectly with garlic and broiled to perfection before being topped with mushrooms and onions, and served with a choice of brown or white rice, french fries or real mashed potatoes. To conclude the scrumptious meal, diners may choose from Strawberry Shortcake Fantasy, Brownie Delight or Napple a La Mode for dessert.

These can’t-miss specials are available Saturday and Sunday, June 14 and 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Diners are reminded that prices are slightly higher at Zippy’s Kahului and Hilo locations.

“We offer a special Father’s Day menu, as well as our regular menu offerings to satisfy any cravings,” says Jeanine Mamiya-Kalahiki, marketing manager at Zippy’s Restaurants. “We provide a casual and family-friendly restaurant that makes it easy and comfortable to celebrate with the entire family.”

An award-winning establishment, Zippy’s, continues to offer monthly promotions that appeal to diners’ tastes and budgets.

Throughout June, Zippy’s offers a “Support Local Giveaway” and will award a grand prize package that includes: 120,000 Hawaiian Miles — enough for two people to take a round trip anywhere Hawaiian Airlines flies to in the U.S. Mainland; a two-night stay at one of the following Aston Hotels & Resorts: Aston Shores at Waikoloa (Big Island), Aston Kaanapali Shores (Maui) or Aston Waikiki Sunset (Oahu); tickets for four to Germaine’s Luau; and $500 in gift certificates from Hawaiian Island Creations.

In conjunction with the giveaway, Zippy’s spotlights its ever-popular Spaghetti & Chicken Mixed Plate ($6.59 fast-food counter, $7.59 dine-in restaurant through June 30), which includes spaghetti (with chili or meat sauce), fried chicken, garlic bread, macaroni salad (at fast-food counter) or corn (at dine-in restaurant).

In addition to the aforementioned summer savings, Zippy’s Restaurants also is lending support to Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Hawaii, the world’s leading nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases, and its “Give a Lei” campaign. Customers may help the vital cause by picking up a Kokua Pac ($8.08 fast-food counter, $9.30 dine-in restaurant available now through July 31), from which 25 cents will be donated to MDA Hawaii. The flavorful Kokua Pac includes Korean Chicken, Portuguese Sausage, Teriyaki Hot Dog and Spam over rice with takuan. Also, customers may purchase a special donation circle for $1, or make an additional monetary donation at designated boxes at all Zippy’s locations.

“Zippy’s Restaurants is part of the community and wants to continue to be your neighborhood restaurant,” explains Mamiya-Kalahiki. “We want to give back to the community because they are and continue to be our loyal customers.”

From flaky Napples to flavorful Zip Pacs, Zippy’s continues to serve up local comfort food around the clock while striving to live up to its coveted distinctions. Mamiya-Kalahiki reminds loyal diners to keep an eye out for new waffle desserts and salads coming soon.
