Seafood Village, located in Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa, is helping families celebrate Mother’s Day with a special lunch and dinner menu to satisfy your Chinese food cravings.

For $16.95 per person (minimum four people) families will get an assortment of delicious dishes such as Chicken Salad, Minced Beef Cilantro Soup, Chive Dumpling, Pork Hash, BBQ Pork Bun, Nori Spring Roll, General Tso’s Chicken, Kalua Short Ribs, Beef Broccoli Fried Noodle, Steamed Rice and for dessert, Mango Pudding.

If dinner is more your speed, for $29.95 per person (minimum four people) you and your loved ones will get Ocean Wrap, Mixed Seafood Soup, Tea Smoked Kahuku Shrimp, Opakapaka Filets with Thai Sauce, Kalua Short Ribs, Stir Fry Vegetable, Minute Chicken Fried Noodle, Seamed Rice and Mango Pudding for dessert.

According to manager Sandy Phan, Seafood Village is the perfect place to celebrate anything: graduation, retirement, baby luaus, birthdays and more. There also are several VIP rooms. “It’s a place where friends and family can gather for a taste of Hong Kong in Hawaii,” she says.

Seafood Village has a family-style arrangement of food service, and dim sum is served during lunch hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. The restaurant opens again from 5 to 10 p.m. for dinner nightly.

If you plan to head down to Seafood Village, Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp and Scallop ($12.95) is a must-try. Who doesn’t love bacon, right? And when it’s paired with juicy pieces of seafood, it’s simply to die for. You can eat it by itself or dip it in the creamy mayo/Thai chili sauce. Either way you’ll be satisfied.

Seafood Village’s Tea Leaves Smoked Jumbo “Kahuku” Prawns ($23.95) is a beautiful display of plump pieces of shrimp with crispy tea leaves. Black oolong tea leaves are fried with the shrimp and then both are sauteed and served in a wicker basket.

Minute Chicken Fried Noodle ($15.95) features tender pieces of chicken served on a bed of fried noodles and fresh vegetables that are perfectly cooked.

A local favorite at Chinese restaurants, including Seafood Village, is Honey-Glazed Walnut “Kahuku” Prawns ($22.95). Each walnut is covered with sesame seeds, which adds to the flavor of the dish, and there’s just enough sweetness to satisfy your taste buds.

One of the most glorious dishes at Seafood Village is Country Style Crab ($60) served with black bean sauce. Large pieces of crab cover the plate, and this dish is sure to be a gratifying and filling addition to your meal.

So, if you’re looking to have a big party of up to 200 people, dinner for two or a family get-together for a special event such as Mother’s Day, head down to Seafood Village where you’ll get excellent food and great service.
