Feast Like a King at Royal Palace

A culinary kingdom awaits at Royal Palace Restaurant, your place for the highest quality Hong Kong-style Chinese cuisine. Royal Palace is located in Stadium Mall, and is now owned and operated by Cary Lee, who took over the Salt Lake establishment in 1994 from the previous owner.

“We’re a family-style restaurant with great-tasting food,” says Lee’s daughter, Judy Hwang. “All of our chefs have nearly 40-plus years of cooking experience. We offer a lot of food, and at the same time we try to keep the prices as reasonable as possible to meet an everyday lifestyle,” she adds.

Royal Palace shines with its many alluring dishes, in addition to its popular lunch buffet featured daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ($10.50 per person). However, due to customer requests, the restaurant most recently unveiled its dinner buffet ($10.95 per person on week-days, $11.95 per person Saturdays, Sundays and holidays) available from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

“The buffets feature approximately 25 different items from Fried Rice, Chow Funn, Cake Noodles, Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Jin Dui, Crispy Gau Gee, Cold Ginger Chicken, Beef Broccoli and more,” Hwang states. “We constantly replenish/refill the dish as our customers eat away.”

Care to dine family-style? Royal Palace has a variety of signature dishes listed on its menu as well, such as Honey Walnut Shrimp ($13.95) and Hong Kong-Style Kau Yuk with Taro ($9.75).

“Honey Walnut Shrimp is definitely one of our more popular dishes. It just melts in your mouth when it comes out fresh from the kitchen,” Hwang exclaims, adding, “our Hong Kong-Style Kau Yuk with Taro has quickly become a local favorite, too. It’s great-tasting braised pork belly with taro in between each piece of kau yuk. Delicious!”

And if you’re planning a party, Royal Palace also has an assortment of party menus for patrons to choose from ranging in price from $155 to $240 for a table of 10.
