STIX ASIA celebrates one year in business with giveaways, discounts and more.

STIX ASIA marks its one-year anniversary on National Chopstick Day (Feb. 6) — fitting considering that the restaurant plays tribute to this ubiquitous utensil in its moniker.

The Asian food hall is hosting exciting events in the coming weeks, including giveaways, discounts and an opportunity to win a trip to Japan.

Here, CEO Frank Clark reflects on STIX ASIA’s inaugural year and provides insight into what the future holds.

DO: Congrats on one year! How has the journey been since you opened?

FC: Actually, I am very pleased with the first year at STIX ASIA by providing new affordable delicious Asian dining options to both the local and visitor industry.

STIX ASIA is always trying to improve on our brand and provide a better dining experience for the customer.

DO: What special things do you have planned for the anniversary celebration?

FC: We have lots of promotions for our month-long one-year celebration. To kick off the celebration, we will be giving away free scoops of gelato and having a Momochan Kitchen Strawberry Daifuku Pop-Up Event selling handmade strawberry mochis at our concierge desk.

On Feb. 6, which is our official anniversary and also National Chopsticks Day, all of our eateries will be featuring $9.99 signature menu specials as well as parking validation available all day, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

In the spirit of Lunar New Year, we will be welcoming lion dancers to STIX on Feb. 10 from 3 p.m. to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.

The local community has always been an important market for STIX ASIA, and this is one way of giving back.

DO: How have customers, both visitors and locals, responded to STIX ASIA?

FC: A lot of locals and visitors have shown great support and excitement for the various new Asian dining options. To accommodate our local community, we have made some improvements since our grand opening based on guest feedback, such as offering parking validation and takeout options.

We’ve also had the pleasure to receive amazing feedback from visitors from the mainland and other parts of Asia that their visit to STIX ASIA has taken them back to the last trip they took in Asia or have brought them back to their home countries.

DO: What makes STIX ASIA unique for the local dining scene?

FC: Unlike any other places in Waikiki, we offer authentic full-service dining options from different parts of Asia in one location. You don’t need a passport to visit STIX ASIA to enjoy the many iconic Asian culinary dishes.

DO: Can you tell us about 5-6 of your best drinks/dishes?

FC: Some of these menu specials are incredible deals where as signature Beef Back Rib Pho from Ribs & Broth Waikiki is normally priced at $21.95, Baikohken’s Miso Ramen is normally priced at $16.48, Tempura Kiki’s Kiki Tendon is normally priced at $18, HK Cafe’s Satay Beef Noodle is normally priced at $16.99, Shingen’s Beef Bowl is normally priced at $16.80 and nana’s green tea’s Matcha Shiratama Parfait is normally priced at $12.50.
