It’s Christmastime, and for many diners that means it’s time for Chinese food. Located in Ala Moana Center’s Hookipa Terrace, Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant offers elegant — and affordable — Asian-inspired dishes, making it the perfect place for family and friends to gather during the holidays.

From Dec. 20 to Jan. 6, Jade Dynasty is offering a nine-course Christmas Special Prix Fixe Menu ($458 for 10 people; $238 for five people) for lunch or dinner.

The meal starts with a juicy steamed shell oyster with black bean sauce for each guest, followed by crab meat and fish maw soup.

The iconic dish of Peking duck is next, served alongside soft buns. And, salt-andpepper Dungeness crab (two crabs for a party of 10; one for five people) will put diners in a holiday mood with its red peppers and green onions.

Entrees also include honey garlic ribs — a bestselling Jade Dynasty dish that evokes the flavors of the traditional Christmas honey-cooked ham. Crispy lettuce wraps with duck meat, braised black mushrooms with bok choy, and the local favorite pan-fried crispy noodles with pork and bean sprouts round out the menu.

For dessert, chilled tapioca pearls with coconut milk and fruit is a special sweet treat.

The 8,000-square-foot restaurant offers an amicable ambiance that complements the fresh, forward-thinking food. Intimate groups can dine in their popular private rooms, flexibly fitting 10-60 people.
