Authentic flavors shine at food hall

Sushi Matsuri: Seto Lunch ($24.95)

Diners’ taste buds can travel across the Pacific without leaving the table as they take in the alluring aromas coupled with intriguing sights and sounds at STIX ASIA.

Located in the lower level of Waikiki Shopping Plaza at 2250 Kalakaua Ave., STIX ASIA features 16 restaurants and a bar representing various countries — including China, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan — within the robust food hall.

STIX ASIA features choices ranging from Michelin Guide-rated ramen to Asian-inspired cocktails as the culinary experience is reminiscent of Tokyo’s Tsukiji Market known as Japan’s “food town.”

Honolulu Noodle & Co. serves up its famous Beef Noodles ($21.85). This Taiwanese noodle soup features a light, savory broth made with 15 ingredients and simmered for 48 hours. The popular offering includes locally made noodles and housemade beef butter along with pickled vegetables that come together to forge a truly special dish.

Visit Ramen BARIO, opening this month, and try BARIO Deluxe Ramen ($26.98). The custom ramen noodles are served in a savory tonkotsu broth and topped with thick-cut char siu, marinated boiled eggs, mounds of green onions, bean sprouts, corn and kimchi.

Sushi Matsuri offers ono sushi and sashimi for lunch and dinner. Its Seto Lunch ($24.95) is a robust sushi set crafted with fresh ingredients via an assortment of nigiri and rolls accompanied by warm miso soup, while Matsuri Bowl ($27.95, dinner only) features fresh sashimi and assorted seafood on a bed of imported premium Japanese rice and special soy sauce from Tokushima.

Two hours of validated parking is available at Waikiki Shopping Plaza from 5 to 10 p.m. Mondays -Fridays, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
