When a sushi craving strikes, stop by Ward Village. Within Ward Centre, Ginza Sushi and Genki Sushi are two of Honolulu’s hottest sushi establishments.
From whole family fun to special date nights, both eateries will delight guests with their fresh fish, spectacular service, plentiful parking and memory-making atmospheres.

Ginza Sushi

A longstanding Ward Village eatery, Ginza Sushi is a small, unassuming spot with a subtle interior. But, many locals insist Ginza’s authentic Japanese comfort food is the finest on the island.

“Our main goal is serving our customers with great service and quality food,” explains chef-owner Russell Won.

After being a Ninja Sushi franchise owner in Ginza’s current location, Won realized he wanted more flexibility to best serve his customers. With the support of his wife, Chong, he transformed the spot into a sit-down and takeout restaurant in 2015.

Won’s father was a commercial fisherman, so guests of Ginza can always expect the freshest fish – at the best possible price. The Salmon Lover Set ($26.95) showcases nigiri, sashimi and a salmon-avocado roll.

A suggested starting dish from Ginza’s vast mouthwatering menu is the Hokkaido Scallop Butteryaki ($19.95). Plump Hokkaido scallops are drenched in a luscious butter sauce and topped with a tangy aioli.

Hamachi Carpaccio ($19.95) is also a popular appetizer pick. Thinly sliced hamachi is sprinkled with shaved white onions and drenched in a housemade ponzu sauce with jalapeño and drops of Sriracha.

Ginza is also known for its creative sushi rolls, some of which are named after the restaurant’s regulars. The Avenger Roll ($17.95) wraps spicy ahi and avocado and layers fresh ahi, sweet chili sauce and potato crisps on top.

“Parents can have sake and some sushi, and kids can have teriyaki chicken and udon. We have something on our menu for the entire family to enjoy,” Won concludes.

Genki Sushi

Guests at Genki Sushi look forward to the superb variety and flavors available as diners enjoy a host of delicious sushi selections, rice bowls topped with local favorites, bento sets, tasty desserts and beverages.

With eight locations on Oahu including its popular restaurant at Ward Centre, as well as eateries on Kauai (Kukui Grove Shopping Center), Maui (Maui Mall) and Hawaii island (Kona and Hilo), Genki Sushi serves up flavorful creations in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

Diners can look forward to new seasonal specials available starting Nov. 1. Genki Bites ($4.95 each) feature spicy ahi placed in nori wrapper that guests simply fold and eat upon delivery. Double Beef Bowl ($6.75) and Teriyaki Chicken Salad ($4.95) are hearty specials bursting with flavor.

Be sure to try the Sweet Chili Potato fries ($4.95) and Tuna Corn Bomb ($4.95), also a special starting in November.

Most Genki Sushi locations across the state offer double rail, “bullet train” sushi delivery configuration for convenient, ultra-fast ordering to help identify and select one’s favorite choices in a flash. As part of the train-ordering process, diners can place orders via a touch-screen panel and receive their sushi favorites tableside, and some locations offer mobile ordering for quick, seamless service.
