With Mother’s Day approaching quickly, Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach is crafting a memorable brunch experience to help families celebrate with a special “mom-approved” menu that is sure to please the entire ohana.
The Moms & Mimosas Mother’s Day Brunch will be held at the resort’s newly renovated Alohilani Ballroom at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, May 14. Executive chef Alexandre Petard has prepared a flavorful menu for the whole family to enjoy. Highlights include a carving station featuring Roast Prime Rib and Honey Glazed Roast Ham with pineapple barbecue sauce, au jus and cream of horseradish; Whole Roasted Pig served with tomato salsa, Thai basil chili sauce and hoisin; Huli-Huli Chicken and Roasted Miso Glazed Salmon; breakfast fare, including make-your-own crepes; Ahi Poke featuring locally sourced fresh fish with spicy aioli; and a variety of desserts.
Mimosas are provided for moms to toast the special day and local arts and crafts vendors will welcome guests Mother’s Day with gift ideas to purchase. Live music by four-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award nominee Ben Kama provides the perfect ambiance. New to this year’s event are prize giveaways included with every event ticket purchase. Prizes include gift certificates to Alohilani’s award-winning restaurants and one two-night stay at the resort in a premier oceanfront room.
Reservations for this special event can be made by calling 808-921-6137 and at alohilaniresort.com/dining/mothers-day-brunch-menu/. Tickets for adults and children age 11 and older are $90, and $55 for keiki ages 3-10; prices do not include tax and gratuity, and children under 3 attend for free.
“Our carving and crepe stations are both very popular with guests — the former for the parents, the latter for the children,” says area director of food and beverage Chase Heu. “Being able to cater to both audiences in a sophisticated, yet approachable manner makes our brunch a huge hit every year.”
The Alohilani team has also created a new package for locals called Love Hawaii to encourage kamaaina to experience all that Waikiki has to offer by enjoying a staycation in the center of the action. Available now through May 31, the deal includes a waived resort fee; credits to Beach Candy Waikiki that guests can easily redeem for surfboard, umbrella and snorkel rentals; self-parking; and early check-in and late check-out options, and more.
To complete the staycation experience, kamaaina can indulge in Alohilani’s recently reimagined on-site wellness center, Fit Waikiki, home to state-of-the-art equipment, membership options and a new full-service spa partner, Spa Uilani. Fit Waikiki welcomes Hawaii residents of all fitness levels to join the membership program featuring tiered options, new group classes and personal coaching sessions.
Check out Alohilani’s new pop-up culinary concept, Luna’s Tequila Bar, a fun, playful pop-up inspired by Mexico City’s gastronomy and street food scene. Its vibrant, tequila-focused menu highlights original craft cocktails, developed entirely in-house, ranging from a twist on the classic Margarita to Texas Ranch Water and Tequila Old Fashioned.
Luna’s is open 5-10 p.m. Wednesdays-Thursdays and Sundays, and 5-11 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays.
