Decadent dining isn’t only for humans. Belly Rub Kitchen has created healthy, delicious dishes for furry friends, too.

Started in the summer of 2022, Belly Rub Kitchen’s vision was to create single-ingredient, dehydrated treats that would appeal to dogs and also offer pet parents versatility and nutrition. Now, the eatery serves “crispy, lean treats without any preservatives or additives,” says owner Derek Lee.

“When making the treats, each one passes through our hands,” Lee explains. “We know people can trust our treats.”

Top sellers are the 100% Beef, Pork or Chicken Doggie Treats ($14). The single-protein-ingredient, crispy strips are perfect for dogs of all sizes, as they easily break into smaller portions. Also, the treats work well for many pups prone to food allergies.

“Some of our customers have used the treats for training, too — both for general and competition training,” says Lee.

Belly Rub Kitchen sells dog food, including toppers.

That’s a testament to the treats’ tantalizing flavors.

For a snack to savor, the Pig Ear Strips ($20) are suggested. Prepared differently from large pet store retailers, Belly Rub Kitchen cuts and cleans the ears before dehydrating, creating a perfect portion size and high-quality food.

Beef, Chicken, Ahi or Duck Topper ($15) are new products offering no-filler sustenance. Peas and carrots blend with the protein, and the beef and chicken toppers having beef liver added to the mix.

Belly Rub Kitchen’s locally made dog food can be purchased online, at their Sand Island storefront or at various Oahu farmers markets.
