Indulge in delicious snacks from Hawaiian Chip Company, where the options are endless with sweet potato, taro or kettle-style chips, unique sauces and more.
“The Zesty Garlic is the most popular flavor for our pre-packaged chips,” says general manager and owner Jimmy Chan. “However, the furikake seems to be the most requested for the made-to-order chips at the factory.
In Hawaii we seem to really appreciate furikake on just about everything!”

Hawaiian Chip Company partnered with Menehune Mac to create a special treat that will become a permanent addition to the menu. The business’s fresh, made-to-order taro chips and Menehune Mac’s melted chocolate offer the perfect combination of both salty and sweet. Chan shares that the fun pairing was a result of a Menehune Mac candy-making event, during which customers used the taro chips to scoop up leftover melted chocolate.
The melted Menehune Mac chocolate, which can be used as a drizzle or dip, is sold in a 5-ounce container ($8) and chips are available in two sizes: 4-ounce bag ($7) or a 1-pound box ($20).
Each chocolate container comes with a packet of salt, rainbow sprinkles and choice of seasoning.
“The combination of sweet, salty and crunchy is very satisfying,” notes Susan Morita, retail sales manager for Menehune Mac. “Additional seasoning packets are available with your order of chips. Adobo, Zesty Garlic and Kiawe Barbecue, to name a few, makes your chocolate concoction a unique flavor burst experience.”
While the chocolate dip is available exclusively at the storefront, guests can also purchase an array of items online such as sweet and salty gift sets that are perfect for the holiday season. (Shipping deadline is 5 p.m. Dec. 15.)
