A true labor of love for owner Daniel Leung, Asian Mix on Beretania Street dishes out plates of food that are packed with the most carefully prepared meats, veggies, noodles and more.

Leung’s desire to create his own venture came after partnering for 20 years at a full-service, sit-down restaurant. He arrived at the idea to start an eatery with the same quality cuisine as fancy dine-in places, but with quick service and at more affordable prices. Thus, Asian Mix was born. Leung’s popular establishment offers takeout meals and features ample parking.

The menu highlights Chinese, Japanese and other mouthwatering local flavors.

Barbecue Pork and Cold Ginger Chicken on Rice ($10.95)

For example, among the plethora of items available are Barbecue Pork and Cold Ginger Chicken on Rice ($10.95). This features succulent pork marinated overnight in house-made barbecue sauce, prior to receiving a one-hour roasting process. Capping it off is a light honey glaze to add just the right touch of flavor. Meanwhile, the chicken gets a ginger sauce coating combined with green onions, hot oil, salt, pepper and sugar. Both the pork and poultry are served atop hot rice and accompanied by vibrant vegetables like choy sum.

Another fan favorite is the Singapore Style Rice Noodle ($8.95). It features slim rice noodles, bits of savory shredded pork, shrimp, egg, green peppers, bean sprouts and onions. These ingredients are then skillfully stir-fried with Indian curry. Leung explains that the flavor typically is mild. However, if patrons desire, it can be modified to their spice level preference for added zest.

Asian Mix is known for many other plates as well, like its famed Mongolian Beef, featuring almost a pound of juicy meat, green onions, oyster and soy sauces, and more.

There are an array of additional delicious dishes at the longtime eatery, like Roast Duck Hong Kong Style, Beef with Broccoli, Ramen, Special Won Ton Noodle and others.
