Host Anne Lee is joined by Hula Grill’s Executive Chef Paul Rivera and learns how to prepare their Strawberry Mochi Waffles at the beautiful Outrigger Waikiki.

Mochi waffle batter


  • Waffle mix 15oz
  • Flour, Mochiko 1lb
  • Sugar, granulated 1.5cups
  • Puree, strawberry 1lb
  • Vanilla extract 1tsp
  • Water 2cups
  • Eggs, whole 3ea
  • Butter, unsalted 4oz
  • Baking powder 0.5tsp

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl add all dry ingredients and mix well
  2. Melt butter
  3. Add the rest of the liquid ingredients to mixing bowl
  4. Whisk in butter

Strawberry mochi waffles


  • Waffle batter mix 7oz
  • Strawberry fresh, quartered 3ea
  • Mascarpone whipped 2oz
  • Honey, Manoa 1tsp

Cooking Instructions

  1. Using a waffle Iron, place waffle batter and cook for 3-4 minutes. For crispier waffle let cook for another minute.”
  2. Remove waffle from Iron and place on place
  3. Top with fresh strawberries, mascarpone whipped cream and drizzle with honey
