Pizza Prosciutto ($23)

Residents and visitors alike flock to Appetito Craft Pizza & Wine Bar for its delectable dishes and chic ambiance. Found amid the Waikiki restaurant scene, the eatery is currently offering kamaaina 15% off food items, as well as free validated parking inside OHANA Waikiki East by Outrigger.

Known best for its novel kiawe wood fire pizzas, the Pizza Prosciutto ($23) is the talk of the town as of late, especially since it can be made gluten-free with a cauliflower crust for just $7 more. Even better, the pies are now available for dine-in, takeout (including curbside pickup) and delivery.

Though people come running for the pizza, we would be remiss to not mention the Skillet Lemon Chicken ($28) and Naomi’s Spicy Meatball ($12). The former pays homage to its flagship restaurant Taormina Sicilian Cuisine, says acting general manager Jennifer Ong-Cua, and serves as one of the signature dishes that regional executive chef Hiroyuki “Hiro” Mimura is famous for. The latter, meanwhile, was dreamed up by chef de cuisine Naomi Ito, and quickly became an Appetito favorite.

“(My favorite is) definitely the Molokai Sweet Potato Gnocchi, which we debuted at our reopening in December 2020, and it’s quickly becoming a classic for Appetito,” shares Ong-Cua.

Last comes the perfect palate cleanser: Green Tea Tiramisu ($9), a Japanese twist on a Italian classic dessert.

Due to limited seating and social distancing, Ong-Cua notes that guests should make reservations via OpenTable prior to dining in.
