For the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Big City Diner has something exciting cooking up in the kitchens of its five Oahu locations.

“He was a great man,” shares owner Lane Muraoka. “We just want to honor MLK Jr., and so we thought, ‘What’s something special we can do for the weekend?’”

Wing Family Meal Deal Pack ($99.99)

Muraoka, along with his top chef, came up with the idea of a Family Meal Deal Pack ($99.99) that’s perfect for any feast. Enough food to serve five to six people, the star of the show is two full, slow-roasted racks of Baby Back Ribs, doused in Big City Diner’s famous housemade Guava BBQ Sauce.

“It’s been extremely popular,” says Muraoka of his sauce that also features hints of mango. “People have been taking it to the mainland. Actually, I have to ship some boxes to California tomorrow. This guy that moved goes, ‘Do you ever ship the bottles?’”

The meal, which can be ordered for takeout or dine-in, also features 22-24 pieces of Spicy BBQ Chicken Wings, 2 pounds of Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, 2 pounds of Maui Gold Pineapple Coleslaw and eight pieces of Roasted Macadamia Nut Brownie Bites.

Available from Friday, Jan. 15, to Monday, Jan. 18, the pack must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance.
