Pomaikai Ballrooms keeps the parties going

Cue the Electric Slide and boogie-boogie-woogie your party over to Pomaikai Ballrooms, which is designed for any occasion. Leave the work of supplies, entertainment and food up to the folks at Pomaikai so the only thing left for you to do is to host guests and enjoy!

The spacious venue, conveniently located in Iwilei with nine floors of parking, offers both elegance and amusement with its two ballrooms, Hokulei and Piilani. Hokulei is the larger of the two offerings and boasts about 11,000 square feet, which means room for up to 1,000 guests. As for Piilani, it offers up 7,000 square feet for upward of 600 people.

Just around the corner for thousands of high school seniors on the island is graduation time, and Pomaikai is ready to go for the season. General manager Jeff Marcello mentions patrons may choose between a lunch or dinner graduation package — both of which can be set up buffet-style or as a plated offering.

The lunch package starts at $51 for adults and $31 for children ages 6-10, while the dinner package starts at $61 for adults and $43 for children.

The reservation also includes seating and tables, beverages and a dance floor with a stage. Pomaikai works with Dynamic Sounds to provide a professional DJ, emcee and sound system.

Meanwhile, the kitchen team is led by two talented and professional chefs who have been in the industry for many years and, Marcello adds, guests will only receive the best of the best.

“We are most proud of people commenting to us that when they come into the facilities, they feel like they are in a hotel, and that’s what we aim for,” he continues. “It’s exactly what you see and feel of hotel ballrooms. We offer elegant dining at a very reasonable price.”

BONELESS KALBI RIBS

A classic favorite, patrons who host a party at Pomaikai Ballrooms can load up on an order of these tender, juicy and perfectly charred meat slices.

ROAST PORK LOIN

Beautifully glazed with a zesty pineapple chutney, this roasted pork is also accompanied by roasted veggies and kabocha mash.

CHAR BROILED SALMON

Piled with an artichoke, tomato and mushroom relish, this dish is sure to be a savory highlight of the party.

CHICKEN PUTTANESCA

A lovely setup, this dish screams elegance and wonderful flavor thanks to its preparation with tomato, potato, olives, capers and garlic.
