A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: HEART CHOCOLATE BOX ($95)
Halekulani Bakery & Restaurant combines the best of the best when it comes to satisfying an array of cravings.
From fresh-baked breads and sweet confectioners on the bakery side to savory meals of Beef Wellington and oysters at the restaurant, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The bakery and restaurant also calls to the hearts of customers this Valentine’s season with a special fourcourse meal ($65 per person) on Feb. 14. The special meal starts off with Kualoa Oysters accompanied by cucumber, lime and Hawaiian chili pepper granita, for a light, crisp start.
Moving on to the second course, a colorful and flavorful salad mix serves as a nice preparation for the palate for what’s to come. The dish comprises Hibara Mix Greens, Sumida Farm watercress with strawberry, and mozzarella pearls. The dressing is a charming balsamic vinaigrette.
The main entree is next and it’s a sure winner among diners — Beef Wellington with cherry Port wine sauce and roasted seasonal vegetables.
Finally, Strawberry and Lilikoi Fraiser closes out the show. It features almond cake as the base with lilikoi passion fruit curd and strawberry mousse, and is then decorated with glaze and strawberries to top it all off.
This heart chocolate box contains 14 bonbons plus wrapped caramels.
It is available starting on Feb. 12 at the bakery side of Halekulani Bakery & Restaurant. There is limited availability, so act quickly to get one for yourself or that special someone.
A delectable delight specially made for Valentine’s Day, are the Raspberry Yuzu bonbons. They have just the right balance of sweet and tartness, with a hint of citrus from the yuzu.
ONE SWEET HEART
The surprises continue with this treat, as even the packaging itself is a handmade, edible chocolate box.
