Kick back, relax and enjoy the sun, shade and ono grinds at The Reef Bar & Market Grill. Located oceanside of Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort, the open-air restaurant presents epic shoreline views and cool sea breezes to revel in while enjoying creative island-inspired dishes. The Reef offers five different menus: breakfast, lunch, dinner, after dinner and bar.

Lunchtime offers casual dining with cuisine that’s easy, fun and filling to eat. This includes burgers, tacos, salads and kabobs. However, the highlight of this menu is its Ala Moana Bowls that can be made gluten-free, vegan or vegetarian. They are accompanied by diners’ choice of quinoa or steamed white rice at the base. Seafood lovers are encouraged to opt for the Poke Bowl ($24) crafted into a colorful presentation comprising chilled ahi tuna, ginger, soy and seaweed.

For something light yet finger-licking-good, the bar menu boasts a glorious Flat Stack Steak & Shrimp Nachos ($24), which piles up refried beans, Chihuahua cheese, salsa, guacamole, pico de gallo, jalapeno and lime crema. It’s a great snack to enjoy with one’s favorite cooling beverage.

At dinnertime, things get really interesting as the eatery puts on a fun and interactive experience for diners with its “Grill with Aloha” station. Once guests select their protein and sides they head over to the butcher station to pick it all up. Add the house-made rubs and sauces of choice and then heat things up at the Reef Grill where “Grill Masters” educate cookers on the “fine art of open flame grilling.” There will also be other diners at the stovetop, making it a great place to make friends.

Poke Bowl ($24)

For those looking for something that does not require self-grilling, opt for the well-marbled and very flavorful 12-ounce Rib Eye ($42), or chill out with the Cold Seafood Tower ($65, double; $105, triple). This selection towers high with fresh king crab legs, oysters, jumbo shrimp, sliced octopus and ahi poke served with fennel tartar, chili pepper water mignonette and smoked tomato wasabi cocktail sauces.
