Teriyaki Chicken ($45.60)

Since 1969, Shiro’s Saimin Haven has been the go-to restaurant for local folks who want to sit down and enjoy one of their 60-plus varieties of saimin. However, Shiro’s is more than just saimin, and more than just a restaurant. They also have a very busy catering department offering many customer favorites.

“Shiro’s is great for parties big or small,” says Bryce Fujimoto, Shiro’s catering manager. “We don’t cut corners and have pride in what we do. From ordering to cooking, we treat each order like it was for our own family. We make almost everything in-house and it shows in the quality of our product.”

Hamburger Patties ($54.95)

Among the offerings are classic Hamburger Patties ($54.95). Shiro’s uses 100 percent local ground beef from Parker Ranch on the Big Island. The patties are served with grilled onions and a choice of either home-style gravy or house-made teri sauce.

Another ever-popular item is Teriyaki Chicken ($45.60). The chicken is marinated for at least 24 hours in Shiro’s house-made teri sauce, resulting in flavor that permeates every bite.

Pork Adobo ($52.80)

For those craving a bit of Pinoy flavor, there is the Pork Adobo ($52.80). It’s marinated for 24 hours, then slowly braised with spices until fork tender.

Listed prices are for medium size pans, which Fujimoto says are good for 25 people “potluck-style.” Shiro’s also offers small and extra-large pans. Items require anywhere from 24-48 hours notice. Orders are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
