Once a popular lunch wagon known for its Japanese fare, Yajima-ya Japanese and Local Cuisine is now a full-fledged restaurant situated on South King Street that serves lunch and dinner every day.
Specializing in soba, udon, sushi, sashimi, plate lunches and donburi, Yajima-ya continues to exhibit the same excellent customer service, amazing food portions and delicious culinary offerings that first made the establishment a social media favorite. Here, the food is treated like gastronomic art, with each dish creatively arranged and ready for a patron’s perfect photo.
Furthermore, with a long-standing reputation for friendly, attentive service, Yajima-ya frequently updates its menu inspired by customer feedback, turning lip-smacking desires into reality.
BRING ON THE BOWLS
Yajima-ya Japanese and Local Cuisine recently unveiled a brand-new offering — Mini Donburi Set ($18.50), which is currently only available as a special during lunch. General manager Miha Fukumasa shares that this all-inclusive dish welcomes patrons to sample the eatery’s tempura, beef and chirashi sashimi donburi in one go. Inspired by the restaurant’s bento platter, which is constantly in demand, this dish gives customers a bit of everything and also comes with a bowl of miso soup and pickled vegetables.
