The Brilliant Ox first opened its charming, rustic doors to the public about one year ago (the restaurant got its start on Jan. 20, 2018), and hungry herds have been rushing on in ever since.
The gastropub’s spacious, open atmosphere, which also features two full bars, coupled with expertly prepared food, has been nothing short of a hit among food connoisseurs and Ala Moana Center patrons alike.
Brilliant Ox’s “New American,” locally-influenced menu is the brainchild of executive chef Brian Gre-million, who had previously worked as a chef in New Orleans, San Francisco and New York.
So far, the popular hot spot has experienced a surge of success with every reiteration of its menu and even through sold-out popup events held throughout the year.
With its unique, innovative foods and eclectic ambience, The Brilliant Ox can look forward to many more years to come.

The Brilliant Ox continues to add alluring and intriguing dishes to its repertoire, which is part of what makes every visit feel fresh, exciting and new. On your next trip to this foodie-approved establishment, try Box Bento with Misoyaki Salmon ($25). Marinated in a sweet and salty misoyaki-based sauce, diligently made in-house, the fish is lightly seared, glazed and broiled, creating an enchanting and satiating lunchtime adventure. The Box Bento also includes furikake rice, mac salad, kimchee, bean sprouts namul and house pickles. Guests can order this tasty bento off the lunch menu Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
