The key to eating nutritiously is knowing and understanding what is being consumed, and local diners have come to realize that the “good food that’s good for you” approach at GRYLT is the way to go, one made-to-order dish at a time.

Patrons continue to rave about the stellar flavor profiles developed in each dish at GRYLT, which is made possible when menu items are healthy but not boring. Customization also is key to the dining experience as the “one-meal-fits-all” mentality often found at typical plate lunch eateries and fast-food spots does not fit the GRYLT vernacular.

As a special inside scoop for Dining Out readers, GRYLT just launched a new series of Power Bowls at its Ala Moana location. And these flavor-packed bowls will be available for less than $10 apiece.

The freshly prepared Power Bowls are built with a flavorful base of rice, salad, edamame, pickled red onions, crispy fried onions, cabbage and smoky Asian Fusion sauce, which is then topped with one’s choice of protein: Hawaiian-style barbecue chicken, grilled swai (a clean, flavorful white fish) or grilled tofu, which is produced without GMOs and is seasoned with Hawaiian salt and pepper.

GRYLT also features its flavorful Angus Cheeseburger ($10.98), which showcases a homemade burger patty hand-formed with Angus Beef brisket-and-chuck blend between a salt-and-pepper sesame bun baked fresh by This Is It Bakery & Deli. The delicious burger comes stacked with red onions, Sugar-land Farms tomatoes, Tillamook sharp cheddar and roasted garlic aioli. And it is accompanied by a fresh side salad. This set meal can be substituted with mashed potatoes or mashed cauliflower for just $1 more.

“The burger is grilled on our flat top to give it that distinct taste with some Hawaiian salt and black pepper, and it’s all about knowing what you’re putting in your body,” says Jose Arias, GRYLT corporate executive chef. “That’s why we don’t add any fillers — the burgers are 100 percent beef, and we can show customers the process from beginning to end. The veggies are sourced as local as possible, and the buns are made locally, so you know exactly what ingredients are included, including our roasted garlic aioli that is prepared in house as well as the honey lime dressing on the salad.”

Angus Hawaiian Style Loco Moco ($10.98) is another go-to choice for GRYLT-goers with island-grown eggs and the same Angus beef patty utilized in the aforementioned burger atop white or brown rice, sprinkled with crispy fried onions to add that necessary texture, crunch and salty notes. A homemade gluten-free gravy smothers the hearty dish, which is packed full of flavor.

Customers continue to enjoy the Built by GRYLT chef-crafted meal service, which helps local families relish healthy and delicious choices in a flash. The chef-crafted meals feature a great selection of steroid-and hormone-free proteins such as steak, chicken, tofu and salmon in customizable portions at frequencies of one to three meals per day.
