This mouthwatering plate showcases some of the items on the Hawaiian Menu, which is one of the special menus available until Aug. 31.

Here in Hawaii, families like to celebrate special occasions with good food. So with graduation season on the horizon, there’s no doubt A Catered Experience will be feeding hundreds, if not thousands, of hungry locals in the coming months.

The Waipahu-based catering company served its first meal in 1978 and has since established itself as many families’ go-to caterer for events ranging from first birthday parties to weddings.

Graduation parties with 100 orders or more will receive a complimentary full sheet cake — one should mention “graduation special” when placing their order. Orders should be made at least two weeks prior to an event, as they are taken on a first come, first served basis.

And with its delicious food, affordable prices and can-do attitude, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be.

Though the company has catered countless events since its inception, A Catered Experience always takes care of its clients. According to general manager Ron Hattori, the business does its best to “make things easier” for clients by offering islandwide delivery, off-site full service setup and breakdown, and staffing for events (at an additional cost).

“We try to fit all the clients needs,” notes Hattori.

Along with its convenient services, A Catered Experience brings the gift of customization to the table. Customers can choose from hundreds of mouthwatering a la carte options to create their own menu or add on to an existing meal plan. Some items one can select are Boneless Kalbi, Beef Stew,

Pork Tofu, Chicken Adobo, Somen Salad with Somen Salad Dressing, Honey Glazed Ham, Crab Crusted Fish and Shoyu Chicken — there are more than 200 items to choose from.

“They can always customize to what they want,” says Hattori. “We try to be very flexible.”

Creating a menu from scratch can be fun, but if one is on a tight timeline or just can’t decide between Garlic or Cold Ginger Chicken, there’s always preselected menu options available.

For grad season 2018, A Catered Experience is offering three limited time menus (offer valid until Aug. 31) — the Light Menu ($8.75 per person, minimum of 25 orders), Hawaiian Menu ($11.75 per person, minimum of 25 orders) and Prime Rib Special ($22.95 per person, minimum of 10 orders).

The Light Menu features a satisfying combination of Teriyaki Beef, Mochiko Chicken, Breaded Fish with Tartar Sauce, Fried Noodles and Steamed White Rice. The Hawaiian Menu, featuring some of the company’s most popular items, is comprised of Kalua Pig, Laulau, Chicken Long Rice, Lomi Salmon, Macaroni Salad, steamed white rice and haupia squares.

With impeccable selections and services, it’s safe to say A Catered Experience truly is best in class.
