A friendly neighborhood establishment, Fairwood Drive Inn & Pho 27 Cafe offers diners a variety of dishes from two extensive menus.

At the two-in-one eatery, find an array of Asian-fusion dishes and local favorites, such as chicken katsu and garlic shrimp, as well as dishes that “scorch” the charts like Mixed Grill Steak ($15.95).

Find on this sizzling platter not one but five proteins! There’s chicken, pork chop, New York steak, ham and hot dog served with french fries, broccoli and tomato, plus your choice of sauce — black pepper, onion or tomato — on the side.

There also are traditional items on the menu, from oxtail pho, pig feet broth and even Jai. Known as “Buddha’s Delight,” Jai is a healthy vegetarian plate that signifies good luck for the new year.

What’s more, the eatery offers this entree year-round, unlike most restaurants that only offer it for Chinese New Year.

JUMPING FOR JAI

Celebrate the Year of the Dog at Fairwood Drive Inn & Pho 27 Cafe. When Chinese New Year comes around Feb. 16, make sure to get your hands on Jai ($10.25 with rice; $10.75 side order). This vegetarian dish features a plethora of vegetables — mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, carrots and more — plus glass noodles, bean curd and tofu. Known for bringing good luck into the new year, Jai also bears good flavors in each delectable bite.
