Caprese ($16)

Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki serves as an exciting retreat for vacationers, “staycationers” and daily strollers.

In the midst of all the excitement is Il Lupino Trattoria & Wine Bar, located in Royal Hawaiian Center, with satisfying options sure to fill an array of cravings.

The eatery is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and happy hour — catering to any diner who is looking to fill up before or after a sandy, refreshing day at the beach or at the end of an eventful walk along the Waikiki strip.

Half Meatball Panini ($15 lunch special)

Stop in for Il Lupino’s lunchtime menu, which offers fresh, locally grown produce in dishes like Caprese ($16). Public relations and marketing director Mona Wood-Sword says the dish is made with Hauula tomatoes, the finest quality buffalo mozzarella, basil, balsamic glaze and extra virgin olive oil. Or diners can cool off with an Acai Bowl ($10) topped with fresh fruits, Anahola Granola and local honey.

A NOT-SO-MINI PANINI

Waikiki’s Il Lupino Trattoria & Wine Bar invites customers to stop in for its new lunch special that comes with a small house salad, french fries and a Half Meatball Panini as the hefty main course. This filling three-course meal can be enjoyed for only $15, but still leaves a little extra wiggle room to order more from Il Lupino’s delicious menu of pizzas, pastas and burgers.
