A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: Beef with Asparagus ($8.95)

Royal Palace Chinese Restaurant in Stadium Mall is the place to be when in the mood for delicious Chinese fare.

Owned and operated by Jinhe Wu, who also serves as chef, Royal Place gives patrons the option to choose from close to 200 dishes, as well as a buffet that’s available daily. You won’t want to miss out on the restaurant’s Oyster Sauce Chicken Cake Noodle ($9.95), Honey Glazed Walnuts Shrimp ($13.95) and General Jor’s Spicy Boneless Chicken ($9.50). But the clean taste of Beef with Asparagus can’t be beat, melding healthy and savory into one unforgettable dish.

A healthy amount of asparagus is paired with locally catered beef, stir-fried on high heat to bring tenderness to the ingredients without sacrificing the vegetable’s desired crunch.

You have to have the flavor essentials! Chef Wu also adds garlic, ginger and green onions to the recipe.

The bird-shaped carrots and boiled quail eggs fashioned into bunnies were made in the spirit of Easter (they do not come with the dish when ordered from the regular menu). However, Wu reassures patrons that the “food art” can be replicated when ordered for special occasions and parties.

The marinade is a combination of salt, sugar, oyster sauce and a generous helping of chef Wu’s secret sauce, which coats the meat and vegetables in a lavish glaze, good to the last bite.

Royal Palace staff also reminds diners that “with any takeout purchase more than $75, we’ll add 12 pieces of Sesame Ball (filled with black beans) or 12 pieces of Crispy Gau Gee for free!”
