Patrons are eager to splash into a sea of flavors at Ocean Dim Sum in Waipahu. Owners Darren and Elaine Li recently opened the doors to this grab-and-go hot spot that’s quickly developing quite a fan base.
Not your typical dine-in restaurant, Ocean Dim Sum offers dim sum available for takeout only. According to the owners, the food speaks to their personal heritage, and reflects the cuisine of their hometown, Canton, China.
- Egg Tart (three for $3.50, one dozen for $12), Baked Mini Manapua Char Siu (three for $2.75, six for $5.50, one dozen for $9.50), Gin Dui Coconut (three for $2.75, six for $5.50, one dozen for $9.50), Baked Mini Manapua Red Bean (three for $2.75, six for $5.50, one dozen for $9.50)
- Half Moon (five for $4.50, one dozen for $9.50)
Homemade selections of dim sum present authentic Chinese flair with a local twist. Favorites include Deep-Fried Pork Hash (five for $4.50, one dozen for $9.50), Half Moon (five for $4.50, one dozen for $9.50) and Taro Gok (three for $2.75, one dozen for $9.50), to name a few.
To accompany these savory options is sweet Egg Custard Bun (three for $2.75, six for $5.50). Remember to snag some Manapua while you’re at it.
