A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: FRESH CLAMS SPAGHETTINI WITH WHITE WINE SAUCE ($11.95)

Since its debut in February 2010, Anytime Cafe in Market City Shopping Center has mastered the art of integrating the unique flavors of East meets West with an array of Eurasian fare. Owned and operated by the husband-and-wife duo Ken and Cindy Wong, Anytime Cafe appeals to a variety of cravings and appetites. This week, we take a closer look at one of the restaurant’s most impressive dishes: Fresh Clams Spaghettini with White Wine Sauce.

“This dish is a restaurant original from our former restaurant Banana Leaf,” says Cindy. “The pasta has been popular ever since we opened Anytime Cafe.”

Morsels of fresh clams are sauteed with a splash of Chardonnay, clam broth, a sprinkle of salt and hints of garlic, then delicately placed atop a mound of pasta. Chopped clams are added for a finishing touch.

Authenticity is the key with this dish as the spaghettini and olive oil are imported directly from Italy. And the incredible taste is proof that quality ingredients are the underlying foundation for this top-notch dish.

“The garlic and olive oil bring savor to the dish and the clams are really sweet,” Cindy says. “That’s why our customers really like it.”

Liquid decadence lies at the bottom of this pasta dish. The sauce is particularly outstanding because of the presence of rich garlic, olive oil and aromatic white wine.

Don’t forget about the dash of chili pepper, which offers a mild but welcomed spice to the entree.
