A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: FAMILY BOARD: HOUSE CUT STEAK ($68, SERVES TWO)
Honolulu’s hot dining scene presents an endless amount of options to enjoy a holiday meal. Among the many selections is Quiora at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach. The elegant restaurant has a special pre-fixe Thanksgiving menu presenting palates with traditional dishes to creative concoctions.
At $85 per person, the three-course meal includes a starter, entree and dessert. To kick off the meal, begin with a choice of Chicken Liver with persimmon jam and focaccia toast or opt for the vegan option of Pumpkin Soup of kabocha, warm spice and pepitas.
The next course of entrees also has a meaty or vegetarian selection of Roasted Turkey or Stuffed Pumpkin, respectively. The turkey plate presents a steamy chestnut stuffing and mashed potatoes beautifully slathered in gravy, while the pumpkin offers eggplant, radicchio and balsamic.
A serving of filling sides completes the meal with grilled asparagus, fennel orange salad, persimmon, cranberry sauce and whole roasted mushroom.
If you’re not looking for a pre-set meal, the starters ($16 each), entrees ($16 each) and sides ($7 each) can also be ordered a la carte. The a la carte menu for sides is a little different from the pre-fixe options, additionally offering chestnut stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, pumpkin soup and whole roasted mushrooms. Finally, Quiora did not forget the keiki, as the little youngsters have their own menu made for ages 10 and under. At $22 children get a roasted turkey plate with mashed potatoes and gravy, with a soft drink or juice.
