Wine and dine elegantly yet casually at Formaggio Wine Bar. With two locations, one in Kailua and the other in Market City Shopping Center, there is now double the chance to enjoy the restaurant which offers tongue tickling wines and decadent Italian eats with local flair.
Diners will be elated to know that happy hour begins at opening and goes until 7 p.m. The best part comes at 20 percent off wines by the glass. Then, it happens again for a late-night block from 10-11 p.m., every day except Sundays.
The bites offered at Formaggio are off the charts, too. The Bruschetta Trio ($15.95) makes for a great start to the night offering light yet flavorful enjoyment. Three toasted bruschetta slats are topped with tomato, basil and wild mushrooms and topped with truffle oil, roasted pepper and goat cheese.
For something a little fancier and different, opt for the Foie Gras Crostini ($21.95). This dish provides great texture with roasted foie gras on crostini with port wine, caramelized onions inside and sliced apples.
A grand entree that is sure to please is the Pesto-Shrimp Linguini with Lemon Butter Sauce ($24.95). The pasta is a Northern Italian dish with basic lemon beurre blanc and garlic-flashed tomatoes. A generous amount of jumbo shrimps are tossed in a verdant and mouthwatering pesto sauce. It is all topped with Asiago cheese and fresh basil.
Stop in for yourself and give Formaggio’s menu a try. From wine to food and happy hour, there’s something for everyone to discover — your new favorites await.
